Brian is very excited to join the Calvin Presbyterian family as the new Director of Choirs. He has been an active church musician for many years, lending his talents to many different churches including First Presbyterian Church of Portland, Highland Presbyterian Church in Louisville, and St. Michael's and All Angels Episcopal Church of Portland where he was the interim director of choirs as well as a section leader in the choir. His most recent position was the choir director for Beaverton First United Methodist Church.
Brian obtained his Bachelor's Degree in Music Performance from Portland State University and his Master's Degree from the University of Louisville in Kentucky. He has been an avid performer with many groups throughout the country including the Kentucky Opera, Portland Opera, Portland Baroque Orchestra, Portland Chamber Orchestra, Cappella Romana and Cantores in Ecclesia. His favorite productions have been with Mock's Crest where Brian can be found most years performing in their annual light opera shows. He was most recently in their production of H.M.S. Pinafore, and in recent years has been in Iolanthe, Die Fledermaus, and the Mikado to name a few.
Brian grew up in the Pacific Northwest. He graduated from Milwaukie High School where he met his wonderful wife Katie, who is a Speech Pathologist for the Portland Public School District. They live in Oregon City with their awesome little kiddo Eva, which if you haven't met her you're in for a treat. We are all very excited to be a part of this fantastic family, and thank you all so much for welcoming us on board! Here's to many years of wonderful friendship filled with music!
