We recognize and embrace our role as a caring community and the physical, emotional, and spiritual health of our members are very important to us. Sometimes we have the honor of lending a hand and sometimes we give that honor to others, by asking for help. After all, that’s what family does.
The services provided by this team’s ministries include our Durable Medical Equipment Loaner program, monthly Blood Pressure Monitoring and our Health Minister who can connect you with community resources or serve as your personal Health Advocate. Additionally, Dr. Judy Miller (503.720.6372, www.drjudymiller.com), a private practice psychologist, has an office on site. For more information, contact our Health Minister, Anne Wallace, RN.
Congregational care comes in many forms. Whether it’s the care provided by our pastors, or the needs supplied by our members, we ensure our members are neither inundated nor overlooked.
Our Board of Deacons proactively keep in touch with the members of the congregation. They do everything from sending birthday cards to providing home communion and even coordinate home meal delivery during those particularly tough times.
Our Stephen Ministers are highly trained, caring persons who commit to walk alongside people going through tough times, for as long as it takes. Usually a listening ear is what is needed, but if requested, these men and women will brainstorm and discuss possible actions with their care receivers.
The Calvin Gimpers are volunteers who provide handy-man assistance around the house to our seniors and homebound members. Arranging for help from the Calvin Gimpers or contributing your services can be done by contacting the church office at 503.639.3273.
