Donating Items

Whether new or gently used, there are many items needed in our community that we can provide through our donations.

April Showers

We support the Washington County Healthy Family’s mission to give each baby a healthy start. We collect a variety of baby supplies and clothes for new parents, including hand-made items knitted with love by our Friday afternoon knitting group.

Backpack Buddies

We partner with the Tigard Tualatin School District to provide backpacks full of school supplies that all kids need at the beginning of the school year. We collect items from the published school supply checklist all summer, then come together in August to fill the backpacks.

Cold Weather Coat Drive

Early each fall we collect coats and other specially requested items for school age children. The Tigard-Tualatin School District’s Caring Closet then takes over and distributes these to students and their families who are facing a cold winter without the proper clothing.

Food Bank

We collect nonperishable food items year round and donate them to the Oregon Food Bank. Donations can be dropped off in the barrels near the library.

Linen Closet

We work in partnership with Love, INC in support of their mission to help local churches help local families. We provide new and gently used linens, including pillows, sheets, and towels and donate them to families in our community.

Red Cross Blood Drive

On an as-needed basis, we provide the facility and the volunteer manpower for local blood drives. We also coordinate appointments for our members to help smooth the donor flow and keep the process moving quickly.

Templeton Elementary School Food Collection

For some families, getting enough to eat on the weekends is a real problem. We collect and donate small cans and non-glass bottles of food for small children to carry home to augment their family’s weekend food supply.

Tigard Recovery Center

The organization’s mission is to provide compassionate care to people whose health and quality of life are compromised by alcohol, drugs, and mental health challenges. Besides serving as a collection point for items they need, residents are welcome members of our congregation. We offer a warm environment where we worship, eat and serve together.

Union Gospel Life Change for Women and Their Children

Many mothers in our community fall victim to the ill effect that alcohol and drugs can have on their lives and the lives of their children. This organization provides a place where women can work on these issues and still be with their kids. We help fill their extensive need by contributing milk, food, and other necessities.
